Chronic Pain Assessment

Physicians Cooperative has paired with PainCare America, S.C. to offer assessments of chronic pain at our physician’s offices.

Using electrodiagnostics such as electromyogram (EMG) where electrodes are placed on the skin to assess the health of muscles and the nerves controlling those muscles, and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) where the same electrodes measure nerve impulses, many conditions such as the following can be diagnosed:

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/carpal_tunnel/carpal_tunnel.htm)
Back pain
Heel Pain
Fibromyalgia (http://www.fmnetnews.com/)
Herniated disc injuries
Muscle weakness
Numbness
Repetitive stress injuries (http://eeshop.unl.edu/rsi.html)
Others
