Using electrodiagnostics such as electromyogram (EMG) where electrodes are placed on the skin to assess the health of muscles and the nerves controlling those muscles, and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) where the same electrodes measure nerve impulses, many conditions such as the following can be diagnosed:
